(8061) Flood early warning system
1 - A real-time event system that consists of remote gauging sites with radio repeater sites to transmit information to a base station. The overall system is used to collect, transport, and analyze data, and make a flood forecast in order to maximize the warning time to occupants in the floodplain. 2 - Early warning systems include three primary elements: (i) forecasting of impending events, (ii) processing and dissemination of warnings to political authorities and to the citizens, and (iii) undertaking appropriate and timely actions.
